[Instructions and Cautions]
・As each piece is handmade, slight variations may occur. Thank you for your understanding.
・Please avoid direct sunlight, excessive dryness, or high humidity, as this may cause warping or discoloration.
・Use only insect repellents made specifically for dolls (do not use products containing camphor). Please follow the recommended amount and do not mix different types of insect repellents.
・This product is an interior decoration, not a toy. It contains small parts—please keep out of reach of children to prevent accidental swallowing or injury.
・Do not use for purposes other than its intended use.
・Do not apply adhesive tapes or stickers to the surface, as the gold leaf may peel off. Please note that rubbing or friction may also cause the gold leaf to wear.
・The folding screen, doll stand, and display base use natural paulownia wood. Over time, the color of the wood grain will gradually change. This is a natural characteristic of the material.
The Radiant Brilliance of Kanazawa Gold Leaf Woven into the Junihitoe
This elegant hina doll set is crafted from Haku-nuno (gold-leaf fabric), a luxurious textile created by applying Kanazawa gold leaf to pure silk. The fabric is then used to create traditional Kimekomi dolls, a doll-making technique that has been passed down since the Edo period.
The result is the Kanazawa Gold Leaf Fabric Kimekomi Hina Dolls—dressed in resplendent kimono that preserve the natural suppleness of silk while shimmering with the vivid brilliance of gold leaf.
Unlike dyed textiles, the use of gold leaf produces uniquely striking colors and an air of refined dignity, making these hina dolls truly exceptional.
Sustainable Wisdom in Chirimen Craft
This doll is crafted using chirimen (traditional crepe fabric) techniques. The art of chirimen craft traces its roots back to merchant households in the late Edo period. It began as a creative way to repurpose leftover kimono fabric scraps into pouches and small accessories.
This tradition reflects the Japanese spirit of valuing materials and avoiding waste—a mindset that resonates strongly with today’s sustainable values.
Hakuichi’s Exclusive Kanazawa Gold Leaf Fabric
The secret behind its refined beauty lies in Haku-nuno—Hakuichi’s original fabric that captures the brilliance and supple texture of Kanazawa gold leaf itself.
Unlike dyed textiles such as chirimen or antique fabrics, this material showcases a uniquely lustrous and profound radiance that only genuine Kanazawa gold leaf can express.
