The product is a replication of Red and White Plum Blossoms by Ogata Kōrin, a prolific and renowned artist of the Edo period. The contrasts in Ogata Kōrin's most notable masterpiece are absolutely sublime. The light and dark are depicted by the gold leaf and flowing waters, and movement and stillness are symbolized by the red and white plum blossoms. The flowing water, which can be said to be the most remarkable detail of the artwork, is depicted using silver leaf and oxidized silver leaf, which are said to have been used at the time. Although there are various theories about how Ogata Kōrin actually illustrated the flowing water, Kōrin's artistic style has been reproduced as accurately as possible.

He created many lucid and decorative works, and left the immeasurable influence over the modern Japanese-style paintings and crafts. Based on the Yamato-e style for many of his works, he also worked on ink-wash paintings in his later years.
