It might go unnoticed at first glance, but the viewer is left to imagine whether the lower section are clouds reflected by the water surface or waves.

The moon is depicted by the silver leaf on top of the Kanazawa gold leaf base. Torn black metal leaf is used to depict the moon's shadow. The dark clouds have been formed using gold leaf, sprinkled using a special tool to create create contrast with the golden sky.
The lines running horizontally in the upper and lower sections of the paintings might go unnoticed at first glance, but the technique used is different to the clouds in the middle. It fires ones imagination, as the viewer is left to guess whether they are clouds reflected by the water surface or waves.

- Display/storage in conditions of high ambient temperature/humidity and that of extremely low ambient humidity may damage the product.

- The base structure is made of paper. Handle carefully to avoid breakage.
