Only white torinokogami washi paper and gold leaf has been used to portray the landscape of this folding screen. Two methods have been used to paste the gold leaf. The first is the overlapping method, used for the gold leaf portraying the contour of the mountains and the trees. The second method involves sprinkling gold leaf on the water surface and mountain surfaces depict the reflection of light.

Two methods have been used to paste the gold leaf.
The first is the overlapping method, used for the gold leaf portraying the contour of the mountains and the trees. The overlapping gold leaf is used to express distance and depth, including the tall mountains at the back, the trees at the front, and the rock surface.
The second is the sprinkling method. The gold leaf sprinkled on the water surface and montain surfaces depict the reflection of light. A thin layer of our original blended paste is used to bring out the beautiful whiteness of the torinokogami washi paper and the glow of the gold leaf. The gold leaf that is sprinkled using a special tool come in three sizes (big, medium, and small), in order to create depth.
